Here's my working process:

1.) Clear description of what the client wants (drawings are appreciated!)
2.) Draw a very quick/rough sketch and send to the client for confirmation
3.) Wait for payment for the illustration (PayPal - easy to setup)
4.) Proceed to polish, while sending updates to the client along the way.

In the past this workflow has worked for me very well, to minimise the event of finishing drawings that aren't what the client wanted/intended. Step 3 is just so that I don't end up wasting my time drawing something for someone who won't pay, and step 4 is so that if there are any minor changes needed to be made the client can inform me as soon as possible as well as get a clear idea of how soon it'll be finished.

For the moment, I'll only accept simple requests (such as a character portrait) and gradually work my way up to more complex things later on.

$5 USD for a sketch ~A4 size (depending if it's traditional/digital) @ 300dpi
